I usually dozed as the car carried me through the tiny village of Tharwa and up the narrow mountain roads, and then wake up as the car paused at the security gate. Inside the tracking station the lights were dazzling after the quiet darkness, and although there was always an incredible amount of activity, there was total concentration on the tasks at hand, with everyone high on caffeine.
